Some fucking nitwit judge throws out the national do-not-call list.

Man, I was really looking forward to that. We are getting several calls a day, every day, for people who used to live at this number.

One great thing about this ex-urban sprawl-riddled, geriatric, republican state: PA has had a Do Not Call list for over a year now. The phone NEVER rings anymore. Lovely. Atty General Mike Fisher has done at least three great things: he created the do not call list, e threw my thieving movers into jail, and he failied to get elected governor.

I just saw that too, and it's really annoying. First off, Congress did pass the law; it's not like the FTC just took matters into their own hands. (This gives me hope for the appeal.) And the "don't put our poor wage slaves out of work" isn't a sound argument in other areas, like drug-dealing or prostitution, so why should the Direct Marketing Association expect to get away with it?

I am fortunate to live in a state that has a (so-far legal) do-not-call list. It went into effect almost a year ago, and it has made an enormous difference in the rate of junk calls.

Since I'm never home anymore due to work, phone solicitation doesn't bug me so much. But I would happily elect the most right-wing warmongering presidential candidate imaginable if he/she would just promise to introduce THE DEATH PENALTY FOR EMAIL SPAMMERS.

AND JUNK SNAIL-MAILERS TOO.

That said, yeah, dumb judge.
