I haven't really been following it, but the failure of both the Cubs and the Red Sox really does make you wonder about cosmic forces in the universe. Some things are just too implausible to be accidental.

In other news, I have no life. That is all.

A lifelong, diehard, Cubs fan. He grew up rooting for the Cubs his whole life. And now the rest of his life he'll be thinking of how he maybe cost them the game. Or at the least was the catalyst for some sort of weird inversion of the luck plane. It's truly unbelievable.

As I read in the paper today, at least the guy got the goat off the hook. (http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/100303_ns_cubs_goatcurse.html)

There but for the grace of God go I

I am in love with that event. There are so many things to this story. It really has me in its' grip. First, you will note in the videotape that there are four guys around him and all of them are lunging for the ball. Second, you will note that the ball was in the stands. Third, you will realize, that the guy was watching the ball and not the field. Fourth, I don't think that the player would have caught the ball anyway. It bears computerized re-enactment. Just like the Immaculate Reception.

Hopefully, Cubs fans everywhere look in their heart and realize that if they had been in the same place, they'd've gone after the ball too. (Just like the four guys on either side of him, and two guys behind him who were pushing him forward and reaching themselves.)

Oh! It is just awful. It is deliciously awful! I love it!

Oh yeah, the papers today were full of stories of other fans and how they were all also trying to catch the ball and even Alou doesn't blame him and so on.

But, man. All that stuff happening right after. That guy was a lifelong diehard Cubs fan and he will spend the rest of his life wishing he hadn't done that, because you never know. It's just eerie.

You, a baseball fan. I am still trying to wrap my mind around that one.
