Oct. 25th, 2003 09:11 pmOn Sunday, I slipped while going down our tall Victorian back steps, and while holding the baby. A little sore but no one was the worse for wear. On Tuesday I slipped while going down our carpeted upstairs steps wearing socks. It hurt like a mother but I figured it would be no big deal. However, three days of sitting in stiff formal hotel conference-room chairs has really worked its magic. I don't even think that I knew where my tailbone was before. It doesn't seem to be getting any better, either.
The trip was OK. Most annoying was dealing with travel: planes that were very late, insane Super Shuttle driving all over DC, long security line at National. (Though I did get to talk to James Carville while waiting in line. Well, I was impressed, anyway.) Briefly wandered around the streets remembering when I used to live there. It occurred to me that I've never before or since really been able to live in that urban an environment... and I liked it. OK, not everything about it, but I felt a little wisp of nostalgia for those days.
Shul-blog is proceeding apace. More soon.
