The unbearable lightness of voting
Mar. 3rd, 2004 10:16 pmSince I know you all hang on my every political decision, I'll have you know that I threw my vote away for Kucinich after all. (I hope this satisfies
flw, finally.)
I dunno, I just decided to do it and filled out the form and then saw Clark was still on the ballot. But I don't know if I was that crazy about Clark intrinsically anyway. As for the others, I just couldn't bring myself to vote for someone who voted for the war.
They have this funny thing on the ballot here, though. You select the "beauty contest" of your candidate, but then you vote for 7 delegates who will actually go to the convention. Kucinich only had one. So I voted for him, but then I had six other delegates to choose. So I voted for the 4 Clark delegates and two of the Dean delegates for the others.
Scatter that vote to the wind. It was bad enough to live in a state that was a foregone conclusion. But we're all just voting for November's runner-up anyway. ("Thank you, Ralph Nader! Thank you so bloody much!")
Speaking of fascism, check out this unintentionally hilarious livejournal image that's making the rounds:

Dubya is love.
You can't make this kind of shit up! I can't, anyway.
