So, the coolest thing about the house? It's right next to a big nature preserve along the Little Pawtuxet River.

This is not that far from where we live now, so I have been back there before. I went for a long ramble today. Yes, indeed, that is what they call an oxbow lake. And even though it's only May 15, the mosquitos were all over me.

I don't care. I'm spending the summer finding every last trail in those woods. And I am already considering how to buy a canoe.

There were even abandoned tree forts back there. Made me flash back to Robb Hollow Park. I want Joanna to have that kind of experience growing up. Scary woods near the house are important.

(Oh, the house itself is in the middle of this image. It's across the street from the red car.)

woods are cool. our house won't have woods. well, there's the wissahickon gorge about a mile away, which is pretty cool. but i think that psychic space around the house would be a really great thing.

still, we're getting really excited to move now.

Oh and we should talk soon about the possibility of a late lunch on Friday June 11... (We're flying through providence on our way to Boston for my 10-year reunion/research trip for j) Insanity to go away right after buying a house I know, but what the heck-- I'm living on the edge, man.

Yeah, I guess I just assumed that you were not gonna come up... and the house in Maine is closing on the 10th, too. Still, I'm pretty sure we are going to be here. Are you renting a car? We're ridiculously close to the airport. Can't wait to see you!

Actually we were thinking about not renting a car and taking the commuter rail into Boston. Dunno for sure...

It's doable if you need us to ferry you there -- just let me know when you're getting in, approximately. (In a couple of years the commuter rail is actually going to have a stop at the airport, but for now it's about 15-20 minutes by car between the airport and the downtown Providence station.)

Well, I was thinking more in terms of a lunch date than a ferry ride, but you are very kind to offer.

Can you get away from your desk for a bit on a friday afternoon (i don't have my itin. on my but i think somewhere around 2...)

Maybe your favorite toddler-friendly lunch spot? And top it off with a Dell's lemonade...
