sanpaku_backupWe're having an invite-the-universe-to-our-house day next weekend, Sunday the 15th. You're all invited, though I imagine that only those of you in the Southern New England area might be able to make it.
It's an excuse for the Mrs. to make insanely good and unhealthy snacks and cakes and so on, and an excuse for me to upload all of my ska music to be turned into a "party mix" via AirTunes.
We're not exactly, um, social people. Actually I get the sense that no one is these days. We met this family at the synagogue -- they are maybe 38-42ish, three very cute kids. They don't attend that often, but the wife is an English adjunct and the husband is a middle school teacher, and they're liberals, and that should be enough to know, right? But it's been hard as hell to get them over here. And it's because, I shit you not, they help run the National Ukelele Museum. And they arrange ukelele conventions and performances and so on. That's their free time.
It's not like there's much of anything else to do at this point in life. You know... model trains, ukeleles, whatever.
Anyway... I do have some specific folks in mind to invite, but I thought I'd let you all know in the unlikely event you're around or something.
