Nov. 18th, 2004 08:22 amWe're off to Baltimore for a conference this weekend. Most of the preparation has entailed planning out where to eat. So many places that live in the memory. It's hard to choose: Samos, the Ambassador, Della Notte, Opa, Holy Frijoles, Paul Chen, Werner's. We took for granted what a chowhound paradise that place was.
This will be my first trip back since we moved to Boston a little over four years ago. The move was to be a temporary respite, a real job while I looked for a permanent home in academia. Hasn't quite worked out that way. The Mrs., I know, would move back to Baltimore in an instant if we could. We had the place figured out pretty well, that's for sure. On the other hand, Baltimore will always be graduate school and the peculiar emotional state that represented. It will be interesting to see how it feels to be back.
