Jan. 5th, 2005 09:25 pmI went under our front porch yesterday to get some old outgoing mail blown there two months ago (so that's why I keep getting "where's our money?" notices from the utilities!). I stretched to reach some things down there. Later yesterday and all of today I've had the worst muscle pain in memory, on the inside of my thighs, the tendons of my arms, and the back of my neck.
Then I felt an odd sinking sensation this afternoon and it occurred to me to wonder. What if it wasn't strains? What if I have the flu?
I suppose if I do I'll know soon enough. The headache responded to advil OK. The problem is that tomorrow I'll be flying to Seattle for the AHA, or more likely, sitting in the airport all day, because there's supposed to be a big snowstorm tonight and "wintry mix" around the time my flight is supposed to leave. (And supposedly a snowstorm when I get to Seattle, too.)
It sucks to have to fly. It sucks to be sick. And it sucks to have to go out in a snowstorm. All three together?
Also, it's pathetic to admit to all you cynical livejournal hipsters, but I will miss my wife and my lil baby doll. Even if she has been very moody of late. We made a tactical mistake exposing her to The Muppet Show at a tender age, and now it's all she can talk about. And she is unhappy when the DVD is not in at the library... On the other hand, she sat in my lap for a half an hour with a little turtle and a bird and hid them in my shirt and told me very solemnly that the turtle was hiding so he could take a bath. Then she had them tickle each other and tickle her and tickle me and giggled and squealed, and all was right with the world.
Anyway, off to Seattle, where
hydrozoa and
herbaliser can take their measure of me. Is there anything else to do in Seattle? I told them already that all I know about Seattle is that it rains a lot and Frasier lives there. I'm assuming those things are still true.
