no alarms and no surprises
Jan. 23rd, 2005 11:20 pmThe good thing about the blizzard is that URI is closed tomorrow. And just like the kid who didn't do his homework, I have a reprieve. The bad thing about working from home for a remote employer is that even when the whole world around you is in two feet of snow, you still have to be at "work" even though all you feel like doing is hanging out and looking at the snow. Which is what we did today.
Jo got outside for about three minutes. She didn't like tottering around in her "A Christmas Story"-esque snowsuit. Did seem interested in snowballs. Back inside, I had a stroke of parenting genius. I took out a washcloth and a little ramekin and filled it with soapy water and told Jo that her animals wanted to take baths, and afterward they'd get a "fresh towel." She then did this, for, I dunno, about 7 or 8 hours, off and on. It is really, really cute to watch her play.
Being pre-crushed, as it were, the crushing was not so bad. I just turned it off at halftime and we watched movies.
flw, I could have just said, "You know, I really think the other guys are the better team." But no one would have believed that I meant it.
