Apr. 19th, 2005 04:41 pmWe are very adept at smuggling the dog into hotel rooms. Wintertime=big puffy coat. But on this trip to Pittsburgh, it will be warm, and they are putting us in the Renaissance, with Valet Parking and Elevators and all kinds of Fancy Service. Four-star hotel at a conference rate, paid for by my employer -- but no pets. This will take some figuring out. Well, it's just a night. If they kick us out, we'll stay with the 'rents, I suppose.
The trip already is something I regret. It will be wall-to-wall conference and then Passover -- stressful. The baby will have grandparents to visit, but that means ferrying back and forth to Mount Lebanon. And my parents are squawking plenty already about various details. My brother will be there, so will get to see his neice for the first time, at the height of her Terrible Twos. And so on.
I'm starting to get that whole thing about mixing business and pleasure. "Pleasure," that is.
Uh, haven't updated in a while. We have had various small misadventures, such as catching three mice in the basement and having a big hole open up in the backyard (ghostly remnant of a cesspool, amateur archaeologist figures out). Otherwise just constantly working and/or house things. I hate April.
