The Final Lap
Sep. 17th, 2000 11:10 pmI work in a very strange, deliberate way. I think it is sometimes referred to as "task-oriented" instead of "goal-oriented." I think I remember this from a high school psychology class. The point was that being "task-oriented" was bad.
In order to work I have to sort of do everything that is minor or easy first. Then the "big issues" wait until the very end when presumably I will be less distracted and able to focus on them. Except of course that a) I'm exhausted and b) they're the hardest issues and I now have no desire to puzzle them out at all. If I did, I'd have done them before now, right?
