Of course with everything else, today would have to be a sunny, mid-70s day in which I do minor work here and there while Henry putters around gently cooing and playing with his toys, and I think, will I ever be so lucky as to have this situation again?

The Mrs. stayed up with Jo, her mother, and her sister L. in Maine. She sounds upbeat, but when I ask her how things are going with them, she doesn't answer -- code for "I am eating a lot of shit but they're within earshot." Oh, why couldn't you be here too? Not for all the sand in Araby...

Also, almost forgot to mention that my brother is getting remarried in Belgrade next month. Guess who gets to go to represent the family. If I sound less than thrilled... I don't know. I guess it's better than having to go to Kabul, but it's a long trip very inconveniently timed and I'll barely have time to be there. Meh.

You're doing a lot for your brother for a remarriage. I hope that's because you care that much about him and not because this is being dumped on you.

Bear in mind that neither I nor anyone in the family was there for the first marriage (in Burma). Basically I don't have a good reason to say no to him when he called me up from Kabul to ask me directly. Also, it helps that he's paying for the ticket. :-)
