collyer mansion
Aug. 23rd, 2008 10:49 pmIn the Sanpaku mailbag,
hydrozoa asks about Second Life:
"was it created for invalids? i'm imagining those twin recluse brothers who lived in the garbage house with all the booby traps in the '40s, and one was blind and starved to death when the other one set off one of his own traps and got buried under a pile of garbage. i bet they would have been big on second life."
This absolutely slays me every single time I read it. Not only that Second Life is dedicated to boring into the most desperate, most lonely parts of the lives of desperately lonely people, but could there be any better description of it than that of a gigantic, filthy house with people dying under the weight of their own booby traps? Perfectement.
