I like fake news when it's my kid
Nov. 26th, 2008 08:37 pmAs I took Jo to school this morning, she recited a long spiel to me about a "show" she had written for kindergarten about all the things she was thankful for. She asked me if we could see her show on TV. I explained that it was pretty unlikely, since one needed a special TV camera and people to film you and it was very unusual to see them.
That afternoon, at the store to buy my sister-in-law a kosher turkey, what should we see but a news crew covering all the last minute grocery shopping. So I pointed out the camera to her (reflecting on the strange coincidence of this happening the same day as her "show") and we moved on.
Two minutes later the Television Personality appeared behind us and began asking Jo a number of questions... she dutifully recited her spiel, not much of which got on the air... but she was on at both 4 and 6 -- twice on each segment. :-)

Happy thanksgiving, everyone! (Oh, except for
alsoname) ;-)
