feel it closing in...
Nov. 30th, 2008 02:19 pmOkay, so you're telling me... it's perfectly normal for people you worked with at your last job, people you used to know through some other organization from years ago, kids you went on a foreign trip with twenty years ago, and high school classmates you haven't thought of for a single second since graduation to add you on Facebook? Everyone's friendslist is some sort of randomly metastasizing monster?
This makes me nervous. I can count on my hands the number of people I knew from high school who I wanted to stay in touch with... and guess what, I stayed in touch with them. (Hi, guys.) The rest either made it stink or stood by while it stunk. So seeing their mature faces makes me feel a) old and b) worried that they're coming after me again.

Date: 2008-12-01 07:19 am (UTC)interestingly enough, though, I had a conversation earlier today about Facebook vs. LinkedIn for this sort of contexts.
PS -- sure you don't want to lock this post? :-)

Date: 2008-12-01 08:05 am (UTC)Abandon friendlink and move to palnet!
Abandon palnet and move to chumster.org
Abandon chumster and move over to sQuEE.net!
WHo the hell still uses sQuEE??? sQuEE sucks, I use wongo.
wongo? That's a cult! Get yourself a SPRONG account... you can share links!!!
Sharing links in a social network??? WOW! But I don't use SPRONG. That's what shadoobie was built for. Only they don't call their apps "apps"... they're called "tools" and you can share your tool settings with tooltags! The easy way to do it is to create a doobie (applets are called "doobies" on shadoobie, and you have to load toollets into your appbuilder by "rolling a doobie". SO... after you roll a doobie you load it into your app-stack. As your app-stack is processed you can assign individual app-stack tooltags to each of your toollets!)
What? Sharing appstack toollet tooltags is SO MUCH EASIER on the newAOL at TWC (naolTWC.com!) All you have to do is import your shadoobie appstack settings into a profile viewer... The easiest way to think of naolTWC.com is as a collection of notecards and each notecard can be an app, a tool, a person, a stack of notecards or a list of notecard stacks. Let's say you want to organize all your tags into a simple to process stack of notecards where each notecard stack has a linktag... It's JUST THAT EASY!
