The people I worked for
Sep. 25th, 2001 09:22 amSo apparently the head honchoes from my former job were all in a conclave in Boston with the investors when the WTC attacks hit. The grapevine has it that at some point the meeting took a break and everyone found out, standing around with their mouths open, worried.
At this point Bob, the head of the company, says, "Yeah, I saw that before the meeting started. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to stop the meeting."
One guy mentions in private his disgust at working for someone so heartless. "You know," replies Kurt (Smithers to Bob's Mr. Burns), "Bob doesn't have to be your daddy."
Oh, some days it is very, very good not to work there anymore.
