Nov. 21st, 2001 03:23 pmSo far today: No more work to do today... the first day the well has run dry since I started. A bad sign. It was only a matter of time before it would happen (that's the downside to working fast to impress people). And there's no such thing as vacation for people on contract hourly work. So that's not good. Then the check came from the state for the health benefits payment. Only 80%, leaving us with $100 to pay a month. Not so bad, but I had somehow misread the the thing that we'd get it all paid for, so yuck.
Mrs. Sanpaku also is preparing to be fired... The answering service job she has is very flexible and she likes it, and from my perspective that alone is a good reason to keep it at all costs. But she wants the week of Christmas off and the woman has so far been a hardass about that kind of thing. She has to work tomorrow. I don't even understand why they need people to work on Christmas-- who the hell doesn't know that everything is closed on Christmas? So every day for the past month I have been preparing for the day she will come home from work and tell me she's been fired. This will probably happen on Friday.
