Bad for the wallet
Dec. 6th, 2001 01:40 pmDecided to take today to wander aimlessly around Harvard Square. Don't know how I never managed to do this before. I'd been there, and driven through, but never really hung around. Anyway, I discovered that there is a branch of Other Music, this store I ran across in Manhattan with K. about 5 years ago. This is very bad for my wallet as the store is unbelievable -- practically tailor-made for that certain indie sensibility. They have every artist I have ever had a passing interest in. Suggestions, anyone? I picked up the Circulatory System (Neutral Milk Hotel guy's side project). Peachy!
Cannot believe that nothing has happened for days and days. Being poised on the verge of jobs while not actually having anything to do is a bad place. And with academia, it is getting to be around the time when no news is bad news-- with the AHA conference in about a month, if I don't hear about interviews soon, I ain't getting any. Well, perhaps I will be optimistic-- it's finals time, right? They will call me as soon as they all finish grading papers.
