Actually Passover gets easier every year because Mrs. Sanpaku makes really good food and I like the spreads that we get to put on the matzo. It just gets boring after a week. But this never fails: Mrs. had some friends over on Tuesday night, and of course they loved having matzo. "You must not be Jewish," I observed. Anyway, it's over.
We still have a house-guest: "Pup Pup," my in-laws' enormous white Lab. (No one really meant to name him that, but there you go.) He is the opposite from Phoebe in every way and weighs about 15 times as much as she does. It is interesting to walk an actual dog around the neighborhood. He also barks like a lunatic, and she has picked up the habit from him, so it's kind of crazy around here.
Also, my mom went in for open heart surgery. Nothing too life-threatening, but it was kind of serious. My folks have a habit of not telling me about these things until after they're done. No one wants to make someone else worry about them. But I did worry, though everything seems OK.
I feel somewhat less stressed these days, as I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel for the semester as well as for a lot of my other work. Also, it has finally started to be warm some of the time. I don't know if it's just this time of year, or the fact that all of my friends are in the midst of big transitions, but I feel like I ought to get something significant accomplished soon. Time to lie down until the feeling goes away.
