Start the madness
Apr. 29th, 2002 09:29 amI was feeling kind of down this weekend... Not sure what to do, really, with the whole Providence idea. It seems crazy to do a lot of work to move to another place for no reason, but the isolation of living here is a little extreme, even for hermits like us. But anyway, as always, the best cure for melancholy is to immerse yourself in an insane amount of work so you can't think of anything except how you need to do more work... So, a usual May. In the next three weeks I will:
Just so that's all out there.
My former company asked me to write a module on the constitution out of a bunch of stuff written by other people who got laid off last year. It's a mess and it's not my area, but if they want me, hey... In fact, readers of this space will recall that a year and a half ago, when I got bitched at for playing chess on my computer during my lunch hour and while I was working 14-hour days for them -- it was because the boss had come to get me to find an online painting for the constitution module. (I gave him the painting in about 2 minutes, too.) And to think that getting the very same painting (and my expertise) out of me would some day cost them $1800... yeah.
We saw Murder by Numbers. [Switch to David Spade voice:] "Yeah, I liked this movie better the first time I saw it... when it was called Compulsion. Or the time after that... when it was called Rope." Actually not too bad, but it's pretty remarkable how they didn't even try to vary any of the incredibly well-worn cliches of the Leopold/Loeb story, which is practically its own movie genre by now.
Procrastination must end now...
- Grade 60 papers
- Write a final
- Grade 60 finals
- Open the area of the web site I am responsible for editing
- Write a new module
- Prepare for yet another religious holiday
- Go to Pittsburgh with the Mrs.
