This is exceptionally fucked in the head, even for the imbeciles who run our foreign policy.
Let's review: the Republicans blocked a treaty creating an international criminal court, tried to end the peacekeeping mission in Bosnia, and scrapped the ABM treaty. Now this. And that's just what comes to mind in the past few months. Let alone the land mines treaty, the Tokyo protocols, etc., etc. etc....
Shouldn't people with brains have realized that if the US wants to keep the world's good will, perhaps the very least we can do is let the rest of the world try to create basic decency for itself, even if we're not civilized enough for that here?
