Aug. 26th, 2002 05:02 pmThe amazing thing, again -- I just can't say enough how amazing -- is that there is still an enormous amount left to move. Mrs and I trade off being in a bad mood, mostly because little stuff keeps happening and I am frustrated at how much there is to do. For example, the vacuum cleaner is a piece of shit and it took something like an hour to vacuum just one of 3 floors of the house.
Given that, so far things have been a relative success. The gorillas came, they schlepped, they put in the new house. Only 4 hours so it was what I had expected. The new deck on the kitchen is out of this world.
We had a bad moment when the schleppers couldn't get the box spring or either dresser up the stairs to the third floor. So what does our landlord do? He knocks out the frame and the wall and while we're out he brings the furniture up himself. I think he must have skipped How to Be an Asshole Week at Landlord School.
So, things are looking good, assuming I can keep myself from freaking out over the amount of time the move is taking vs. the amount of time I should be spending on preparing for class, which starts -- eep! -- in ten days.
