Within the past few weeks people in good faith have forwarded to me an anti-French letter written by Joe Lieberman and a passage from Julius Caesar about leaders who beat the drums of war.

Neither was true, of course. It is not surprising to me that people indulge in what Snopes.com nicely calls slacktivism. What I don't understand is how people who have sent me email for years have not yet figured out that these are hoaxes.
