So we got home from vacation and the cat was dead.

The morning that I left, two weeks ago, I thought I would give him some wet food. It had been so hot and he has this obsession with water. He never eats wet food, but we had an old can lying around. He threw it up, but he throws up all wet food. I left being a little worried about him, but I had someone looking after him.

The guy apparently did look after him, because the litter's in the garbage and everything. But there are no poops in it. So I think the can was bad. The guy was here on Friday, he says. So I poisoned my cat and he took a week and a half to finally die from it.

This is the second time in three years that I've had to bury a cat.

I think I'm taking a hiatus from this for a while. So long.

Oh, honey.

I'm so sorry to read this, and am sorry for your loss. You can't really know the cause, though. The kitty may have had something else going on all along and you didn't know.

Please don't beat yourself up over this. It's sad now, but at least you gave him the best life you could, a much better life than he'd have had on his own on the street.

You're in my prayers and thoughts.
